The cost of a mission trip varies from country to country and depends on the time of the year. Most trips to Latin America and the Caribbean cost anywhere from $1300 to $2500, including round-trip airfare. For trips to Africa, the cost is generally between $3000 and $3500, which also includes airfare.
The cost of the trip is all-inclusive. Airfare, ground transportation in the country, lodging and meals are included. Any additional personal spending money can be used for shopping and other miscellaneous items.

We work with children on all of our scheduled missions trips. The specific projects vary from site to site. For example, there are opportunities to do Vacation Bible School, interact with children, and work on projects where we help improve the facilities of an orphanage or malnutrition center.
The only destination that currently requires shots is Uganda in Africa. The other locations recommend some shots, but they are not required.
The physical demands vary from trip to trip, but all of the trips involve lifting children and interacting with them. Some trips include doing manual labor to help improve children’s facilities.
Whether you are traveling in the U.S. or abroad, it is wise to exercise proper caution and discretion, especially if you are by yourself. However, we always make sure that the conditions are safe for our teams in all of our mission locations.

The U.S. State Department website can provide you up-to-date information regarding any security or travel advisories associated with a particular country.

You only need a heart for children. On each trip there are projects that are completed based on the skill level of the team. You do not need to have any special skills in order to be a part of a mission team.
This will vary from country to country, but for each trip we provide a suggested list of things to bring and what to wear.
A suggested packing list will be provided for each trip, and you will receive this information as part of the registration process.
We typically have teams of 10-20 people for each mission trip.
On each trip we take out special international health insurance that covers medical costs and gets you back to the States if necessary. The cost of this insurance is $2.75 per day. Each person traveling with Orphan’s Heart is covered by this insurance.

The cost of your trip includes secondary insurance that covers emergency medical healthcare. If there were a serious illness or accident, staff would be available to immediately transport you to a safe hospital or clinic for quality healthcare. Most of the minor discomforts and illnesses that occur during international travel can be taken care of with over-the-counter medicines.
