I can’t believe our last day is here. Ron warned us all week that this day would be here fast. We started our day at the hotel like all the other days, with a team member leading the devotion. The devotion today really touched me. It was about comparing ourselves to others and how Satan uses that to distract us. Later the person that led the devotion also shared her testimony with me on the bus. What a gift! I have been impacted on this trip by all of the people serving with me. We came from different cities not knowing each other and have worked together like a true team. It’s been great to hear everyone’s stories and to be surrounded by fellow believers who truly have a heart for service, many serve their communities at home too.
Today we loaded the truck with the supplies that we are sending to the orphanage that caught on fire. Also there was a special ceremony dedicating a training room to a wonderful lady that recently passed away. Her husband and sons are here serving on this mission trip in her honor. Her story and the love she had for these children is truly inspiring. Everyone was so moved at the dedication. Even team members that never met her were crying.
The children were so wonderful again today. Their beautiful smiles and excitement when I walk in the room just takes my breath away. It is such a joy to be with them, the whole world just melts away when I am with them. My daughter and I wanted to spend a week thinking about someone else besides ourselves and we have gained a whole new perspective. I don’t think my daughter or I will ever be the same. This has truly been one of the best experiences of my life.
