“It is easier to train children when they are young than when they are older.” – Jamiacan Proverb
Just a short flight from the United States is the Caribbean island Jamaica. Well known for its beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, the living conditions for most children in Jamaica are not nearly as picturesque. Poverty plagues many children and families and the quality of education available to most children is often closely tied with an individual’s socioeconomic status.
Partnering with the Jamaican Baptist Union Conference Center, Orphan’s Heart has implemented two new programs to serve the children of Jamaica.
Orphan’s Heart is funding the coordination and implementation of an intensive tutoring program for 50 students, focused on literacy and math. This program will ensure that more students are prepared to pass their grade-six achievement test, which is required to enroll in high school in Jamaica.
Orphan’s Heart is also funding the sponsorship of 50 children to attend a summer camp program at the Jamaican Baptist Union Conference Center. This is an exciting opportunity for these children that will allow them to build new friendships and introduce them to a relationship with Jesus.
How to Get Involved
- Financial gifts: Gifts to our ministry work in Jamaica will enhance our tutoring and summer camp programs and provide opportunities for more children to be impacted in life-changing ways. Give a gift to change a child’s life today.
- Pray for Jamaica: Pray that the children of Jamaica will grow up to be wise Christian leaders in their country.
Thank you for joining us on a journey to impact ONE MORE CHILD in Jamaica!
