Nicaragua

Nicaragua street program

Nicaragua borders Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south. It is slightly larger than New York State.  Malnutrition is a chronic problem throughout the country. Nearly 25 percent of Nicaraguan children do not attend school, but rather are employed in violation of child labor laws.

Mission Focus

In Managua, there are approximately 15,000 children between the ages of 7 and 14 living on the streets, living in and around Managua’s sprawling public markets, where it is easy to scavenge food. Some children work shining shoes or cleaning windshields. However, most beg or steal to survive. We need you to join us in bringing hope to these special children.
Our mission teams stay in a local hotel and are transported to the ministry site each day where we work alongside a local church. You will have the opportunity to help provide for the physical and spiritual needs of approximately 250-300 children by providing much needed food and clothing, as well as sharing the love of Jesus with them.
