Haiti

Haiti is located in the Caribbean and has a population of approximately 9 million people. It is one of the poorest countries in the world. On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Port-au-Prince killing more than 250,000 people.

Pastor Edmond at construction site in Haiti

Pastor Edmond Fenelon, who directs the orphanage in Bon Repos, inspects the construction on the new orphanage. God has blessed us with great progress on the new orphanage. However, we need more individuals to join us on our mission trips to help complete the construction as soon as possible.

The earthquake destroyed many buildings, including the Foundation Foyer des Enfants Demunies orphanage in Bon Repos. None of the children were hurt, but it forced the displacement of more than 54 children. There are currently more than 50 children from the orphanage that are living in tents or in temporary foster homes until construction of the new orphanage can be completed.

Mission Focus

We are currently focused on rebuilding the orphanage in Bon Repos. The new orphanage will be able to house up to 90 children and will be built in phases. The first phase will house up to 30 children, which we hope to complete as soon as possible in order to get children out of tents and into a healthier living environment.

Can you use a shovel, swing a hammer, push a wheel-barrow, and enjoy Christian fellowship with other believers? If so, you may be perfectly suited for one of our mission trips to Haiti!

Several teams have already traveled to Haiti this year to assist with this project. We have made great progress. However, we are in need of more individuals to go with us as well as donations for construction materials in order to complete this project as soon as possible.

Please consider joining one of our week-long mission teams to help in rebuilding this orphanage.
